Description
Rapid City is an update to a quilt in Elizabeth’s second book, Modern Patchwork. The original quilt was inspired by the amazing hideout house near Mt. Rushmore in North by Northwest. The blocks include variations on the classic log cabin block set amongst stylized “trees”. Her sample quilt is made using pre-cut 10” squares of her Library print collection and Kona Coordinates, and this quilt will look great made from those or any other pre-cut packages of 10” squares. The pattern includes three quilt sizes, all of which have a system with number and letter codes to help you distribute fabrics and colours evenly throughout your project. This fabric guide will help you to place the fabrics in your quilt exactly as I did.
You could also go completely scrappy, arrange your blocks by color, or arrange your blocks at random. Rapid City provides the framework to use your fabrics in lots of different ways! The centres of each of the “cabin” blocks are also a great place to use fussy-cut prints.
